This spot is perfect for letting dogs explore and jump in the water. It’s closed off enough that I didn’t feel like I needed to worry about my dog running somewhere she shouldn’t. I would suggest having good verbal control over your dog as there are some water areas that I didn’t want her getting into and there is a road close enough that you really don’t want your dog sprinting in that direction. |

My dog had an absolute blast!! He loved zooming down to the water, running back up the incline, then weaving through the trees. He worse himself out quick! It’s clear that there’s some construction happening on the property but there were no other people around during our visit. |

It is spacious with alot of trees so it's easy to see your dog. The French broad borders one side so he can't get away. A great spot with trails and diverse terrain. Well be going back! |

Excellent place for dogs to run, play in the water, chase the ball, etc. Looks like there was a lot of damage from Helene, but it’s been cleaned up pretty well. I imagine that it was a gorgeous spot before Mother Nature rearranged it. Please pay attention to David’s advice about the directions: Applemaps won’t get you there. |

Our dogs loved playing in the river! The current was pretty strong so I’d only let your dog swim out if they are good swimmers. There was some metal debris around the area that made me a little nervous but overall it was a great first sniffspot experience! |

Love this spot! Even with the flooding the owner took care of the land so it’s level again. Highly recommend this spot. The Only downside is that It can be buggy. |

This place was SO beautiful! So spacious! We will def go back! Word to the wise if you’re coming from Asheville: it’s a 45 min drive away. So worth the drive though. My dogs had a blast |

We had a blast on this large property. Plenty of trees, shade, sun, open areas, river, and beach. The beach was quite muddy, however it has been raining every day and even rained prior to us arriving that afternoon. I will definitely go back. |

This was a great spot for the pups! Plenty of space to explore under a shady canopy of trees. We spent our time walking the property and sitting by the river. Two kayakers passed by, which was a good training opportunity for our reactive dog (soon to be best good girl). We loved that we were minutes from the Pisgah Ranger District. It would be a great spot to stop and let your dog burn off some energy before taking to the trails. |

Two kayakers passed by, which was a great training opportunity for our reactive (soon to be best good girl). We loved how close it was to the Pisgah Ranger District. Beautifully maintained and lovely spot to access the river. Detailed instructions to access the property + signage. Dogs + kitty had a blast! It was almost 90 degrees when we visited, but we were able to stay cool with all the shade and the river. Will definitely return! ???? |

A huge, clean expanse of Green space. Nicely shaded on a hot day. Unfenced but boardered by riverfront and dense vegetation on most sides so dog is easily contained. Great time. |

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit! The dogs both got muddy and loved every single minute of it. One of my dogs can be reactive, and I felt very secure with the river and woods around us. (Mine don’t really wander too far from me though.) If you’ve seen this spot and disregarded it because it’s not fenced, I recommend bringing a long lead to check it out. We really had a nice time. It was an easy drive from AVL. We brought a picnic, a blanket, and towels for the dogs to clean them up before heading out. We look forward to hanging out here again! As to be expected there were some gnats (not bad) so bring bug spray if you need it. Would be a great spot to read a book in a hammock. |
