Mountain Shadows Cottage

David’s place is great for a peaceful get away! |

Looking for a quiet, calm cabin experience? You’ve found it! We like to find a mountain cabin once a year to relax and wind down — this certainly fulfilled our needs. Hot tub looking out over the little creek on the property and an incredibly quiet neighborhood. Fairly well stocked kitchen for my cooking needs for the week. (If you plan to do a LOT of cooking, maybe bring some mixing bowls and a few of your favorite chef knives.) Great layout for the cabin. Semi-tight bathroom if you are big boned. Although the drive is well-paved, I imagine it could be difficult getting in and out of the property during snow storms, so keep this in mind for Winter months. Leave plenty of time before checkout to complete cleaning requirements so as not to incur a cleaning fee. |

My boyfriend and I stayed here to celebrate our 6 years! Very quiet and peaceful! David was very responsive with us, especially when we got locked out on our last night! I’d highly recommend this home (just be mindful not to shut the sliding door to quickly if you have the front door already locked! ????) |

The sliding door locked us out during our stay and we wish there were an emergency number to call and get an immediate response. We waited 2 hrs to get back in thankful for our neighbors that let us in with our dogs |

We stayed at the cabin at the end of January for 3 nights. We loved the cabin and the amenities and hope to go back. It is the perfect size for a romantic get away for two. There are two bedrooms but only one bathroom, which could be challenging if traveling with children. The 4 person hot tub and electric fireplace are the best features, along with the fenced in deck and back yard. Two people fit just fine in the hot tub, but any more than that could feel cramped. The kitchen was adequately stocked for meal preparation and was clean and modern. Love the island and the gas stove is a dream to cook on. The neighborhood is peaceful and quite, but no mountain views nor paths or trails to walk. Several houses are near by so this is not a secluded cabin although it is a wooded area. The master bedroom has a queen size bed but it is a platform bed and quite firm. Bathroom had plenty of towels, both for bathing and the hot tub. Roomy shower with adequate water pressure. The dishwasher appeared new but we could not get it to work and ended up hand washing all of the dishes pots and pans we used. We did not see this as a big issue. Fairly new washer and dryer worked well. It would be great if the cabin had a propane grill because the charcoal grill was tricky. A fire pit would have been great but with all of the trees and brush around, I can see why no fire pit. All in all, a comfortable, affordable cabin for 2. Grocery store 10 minutes or so away. Asheville about 40 minutes away and Hendersonville about 25 minutes away. Some of the roads could be tricky if icy. My two wheel drive Jeep did just fine, but snow or ice could have made it very challenging. Road were well plowed and and salted. I wish the listing had mentioned that the fireplace is electric, that the bed was a platform bed with no box spring and very firm and that the deck had some privacy but there were other cabins near by. |

So clean and quiet tucked away in a nice part of town, made for an amazing getaway weekend! We were ready to move in for good ???? Basic toiletries were supplied as well as sheets, pots and pans to cook, and a couple of pantry items made it really helpful for our stay! |

Perfect spot for a mountain getaway. |

Myself, hubby and 5 year old son plus two fur babies enjoyed our mini escape to Hendersonville before Christmas to unwind and relax. This cottage provided much needed R&R from the hot tub on the deck to the fireplace watching movies. We appreciated a fenced in yard to keep our dogs safe and happy to roam about. Host was quick to respond when we needed anything. Will be back for more memories. |

Loved my stay! The fireplace and hot tub were great for the cold weather. The only downside is the place is a bit drafty and doesn't seem to be well insulated - there was lots of condensation on windows and doors when it got cold. But the hosts were very responsive when I had questions and the location is great for hiking - I stayed for 2 weeks and went on a different hike every day. And having the washer and dryer was very convenient. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again! |

It was a very cozy mountain cabin! The cabin itself felt very private and the hot tub was fantastic. There’s a lot of great breweries minutes away, and Asheville was only a quick 40 minute drive. Loved our stay! Enjoyed every minute of it. |

The cottage was exactly as advertised. The fireplace was warm and cozy! The hot tub was fantastic! Loved the open floor plan of the living room/kitchen. The cottage was easy to find with our GPS. Downtown Brevard was just a short drive away. We visited several waterfalls that were close by also. We look forward to planning another trip soon! |

We took our 3 dogs for a mountain getaway, this was one of the few rentals that would allow all the dogs. It was everything we wanted and more. Perfect doggie vacation. Minutes from DuPont state park! We can’t thank you enough! |

We loved our week staying in Mountain Shadows Cabin.. It was very clean and well-stocked and in a great central location to explore the many waterfalls, shopping, wineries and breweries in the brevard/hendersonville area. We took our 2 pups everywhere with us and they loved it!!! Having the fenced porch and small yard area was super convenient too... We didn't get a chance to use the hotub.. maybe next time:) Thanks so much for an amazing week! |

This was a great place to stay and the location was perfect if you want to spend time exploring DuPont and Pisgah. We had our dogs with us and loved having the little fenced in yard and gated back porch. The only issue we had was the hot tub hadn’t been cleaned, but the host responded lightning fast and had it cleaned and ready to go before we got back later that day. We’d definitely recommend this place and would rent it again next time we’re in the area! |

Cabin is centrally located, minutes from DuPont State Forest and Pisgah National Forest. Located on a quiet hillside, with a tranquil stream alongside the property. I have been visiting the area for almost 15 years, and these properties have been my favorite by far. |
