Beautiful tiny home located as close as you can get to DuPont State Forest. Great communication with the host, and was better than the pictures indicate. A++++ for cleanliness. Only suggestion is to follow the directions provided by the host, my GPS took us to another address. |

Finding the property and check-in couldn't have been easier. Google Maps sent us a slightly different way from the hosts' directions (Grove Bridge instead of Crab Creek). Either works fine. Mountain Shadows is in a hilly area with homes scattered a bit apart. There is a creek running down by the cabin. It was completely quiet when we arrived, because Penrose hadn't had rain in a while, but it poured rain our second full day, and then the creek roared. The cabin was great! You can just see another property from the porch, but there is a covering protecting you from prying eyes. Hot tub pro tip: if you want to use it your first night, check the temperature when you arrive and raise it. It was 96 when we first looked and took two hours to reach 98, which was just barely warm enough that first night. The next night we had it at a toasty 103 and were much happier. The hot tub is a small one - really for two people. It worked well. The kitchen is well-stocked with dishes, pans, and utensils. Everything was super clean. The furniture was comfortable - just be aware the sofa is quite low, and if you are a senior citizen and have trouble getting out of low furniture this might be a problem. The bed was on the firm side; bed and pillows were quite comfortable for us. Our favorite part was the temperature control! Each room has its own thermostat, plus there is a thermostat for the fireplace. The fireplace kept the living area amazingly warm. We had a great stay! |

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here! Loved the location, super convenient to hiking and just a peaceful place to getaway! The kids books and dishes were a plus. Upon arrival the cabin was 53 degrees which was unexpected. Thankfully the wall heater helped to heat it up fairly quickly. We also noticed the vent in the bathroom needs to be cleaned (very dusty). There aren’t ceiling fans in the bedrooms and there also isn’t a dishwasher. Lastly, the extended check-out cleaning process was a little surprising and challenging for us with young kids. We did overall have a good stay here but I’m not positive we would stay again just based on our family and our preferences. |

We were in town for my girls birthday and we both loved this place for privacy overall and the misty trees in the morning from the deck was awesome! Cabin is really cozy and overall comfortable. We do have one note… what is up with the creepy photo of all those dang sad looking kids from the 1800’s, in the hall it is nightmare fuel! Haha. Kidding of course, was running joke for us which was fun. Stay here for sure if you get a chance! Lovely cabin! |

Great stay and close to a lot of things. The hot tub and deck was very nice. The surrounding area was quiet and peaceful. A lot to do around the area as well. However, the house was a little dirty. Some of the cooking utensils and pans were dirty. As well as under the bed was very dusty and had a lot of pet hair. Other than that, this was a great stay and I would absolutely recommend! Thank you!! |

We loved this spot for our collie. He needed more stimulation than just a fenced in yard/park since he’s by himself, and this provides that. Lots of woods and creeks to explore, and it’s easy to find. The atmosphere is peaceful and the terrain is pretty flat so you don’t have to worry about you or your dogs when it comes to twisting an ankle. I will definitely be back! |

Think this was our 4th time. We are creatures of habit. You’re 15 min to DuPont or Pisgah 25 mins to Hendersonville the location is perfect. It’s so quite and peaceful. Love the Deck and of course the hot tub. |

It is our favorite spot! The drive is beautiful, and there's plenty of room to run and places to explore. I've run into someone out there chopping wood, who had his dog with him, but he put the dog in the truck. It is remote, and cannot be seen from the road, however. I take bear spray. |

Great centeal location in the heart of waterfall country. minutes from Pisgah National forest, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Brevard, DuPont State Forest, & the Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site. Biltmore is only 45 minutes away.This newly remodled ranch home has all of the amenities necessary for a comfortable stay. The hot tub was a plus! |

The privacy was great, only 1 thing I wasnt thrilled with was that last turn into the driveway, thankfully my hubby did all the driving. When we walked in we were very impressed. I have no complaints. We celebrated our 9 year old's birthday. The location was close to everything but we spent most of our time enjoying the cabin. Google maps takes you opposite side of Hwy, read directions once you book. Key code didn’t work for gate but managed to get around no problem. Great spot to run our reactive pup. She enjoyed many zoomies, big sticks, and new river smells! We will def be back. |

Kanto House was easy to find and had everything we needed for our stay. It was clean and neat. We were a five minute drive into town and to reach the highway for exploring. We were able to photograph some of the delightful white squirrels in the local park. The Fall colors were absolutely fabulous and we had perfect weather for photography as we drove to visit a number of waterfalls, a nearby lake, the Blue Ridge Parkway and Pisgah National Forest. A lovely area to visit. |

House was easy to find in the mountains in between Brevard and Hendersonville. Only one step at the front door, so easy to haul in all our travel necessities. Perfect side yard fenced for our senior dog with only a few steps out the side door. House was very clean with plenty of towels (although we bring our own!) and kitchen items. The beds were very comfortable. The hot tub under the trees on the private back porch was a bonus. The neighborhood was very quiet. Would rent this ideal mountain house again. |
